Tanzania Association of Tour Operators was established in 1983 to promote and represent individual tour operators in the Country and at the international level. The association was established at the peak of economic crisis in Tanzania. At that time economy was centrally planned and dominated by public sector while the private sector was small and struggling. The Purpose of TATO was considered important as united front to advance the interest of the private Tour Operators by engaging the Government through dialogue in promotion of Tourism, at the same time acting to promote high Tourist service delivery, both nationally and internationally

AMREF, the flying doctors organisation based in Nairobi, provides air evacuation services in medical emergencies across East Africa, as well as air ambulance transfers between medical facilities.
Incase of a medical emergency there will be one free air ambulance evacuation service from any of your safari destinations areas to a Nairobi hospital.
There is also a free 24hrs Flying Doctor’s emergency response telephone for medical advice.
All hospital costs, medical treatments, medicines etc. are not included in this service, so it is strongly advisable that additionally to the AMREF membership, you hold an adequate travel health insurance.
